I have yet to take it on a camping trip but as I said in my review, the folding handles feel a little flimsy and aren't the best quality, also the non-stick coating should still be used with some form of oil or butter since (with my test run) food will still want to stick to it a bit, although that's only if you're pic… see more I have yet to take it on a camping trip but as I said in my review, the folding handles feel a little flimsy and aren't the best quality, also the non-stick coating should still be used with some form of oil or butter since (with my test run) food will still want to stick to it a bit, although that's only if you're picky about scraping the stuck food off. Other than that is heats up very quickly and I imagine if you treat it well it should hold up fine for a long time. Aluminum cookware generally doesn't last as long as stainless steel, but its cheaper and lighter, and for $35 if it wears out after a while you can just buy another set. see less

since I really appreciate accurate answers I decided to weigh in here. The frying pan holds 20 oz. to the top of the rivets, that's not to the top of the pan. The bowls hold about 4 oz. but are hard to hold even with that little in them. I have cooked in the pot & the non-stick was great, better than my every day steel pots. Hope this helps. see less

I have not tried fitting a smaller fuel cartridge into the kettle for storage. I measured the diameter of the kettle opening(without the lid) to be about 3 and 1/4 inches. I measured the depth of the kettle to be about 2 and 3/4 inches deep. Since I am an REI member, might I suggest you ask an REI employee if one of their smaller fuel canisters would fit in the kettle? I hope this has been helpful. Sincerely, Howard W. see less

Yes you can in general but cleaning after that is on yours. Another point I've learned yesterday being on Fire Island Wilderness is to manage size of fire is not easy. If your Q.is about aluminum coat fire resistance my answer is yes this set is withstanding wood fired fire flame

Not a bad set. I think it is a bit much for backpacking. Fits very well together and even had room to add my pocket rocket but I decided to go more simple and purchase another item for backpacking. My son likes the main pot and plans to just carry that on his hikes and we plan on using the whole set for normal non-backpacking camp outs. The metal held up well to the heat and the plastic on the handles did well around the open fire without melting. But I think if you kept the pots on the fire too long they would eventually melt.

First of all, the order came in about a week ahead of schedule, which I consider great, so points for that! All items in the description were included (one pot, one pan, three bowls, one lid, one teakettle, one sponge, one ladle, one wood spatula, one carry bag) and there are no visible issues. Now, on to the product review. THE GOOD: The weight is fantastically light, and they all fit together compactly. The lightweight material heats up quickly so your food/water gets cooking fast. The handles don't get overwhelmingly hot thanks to the heat-resistant plastic. THE BAD: The bowls don't really "fit" with everything else, and while potentially useful are relatively expendable. The handles can be a bit loose because they are made to swing around, but if you are cooking on a level platform (why would you not be?) they will stay put. As described, they re non-stick, and since the metal heats so quick you have to be careful to not let the food on the bottom burn too badly. OVERALL: They are exactly as described. Cheaply made, lightweight, and compact (make sure you understand just how small so you know what to expect!). Personally, that is exactly what I expected and I couldn't be happier! They serve their purpose exceptionally well, and I see no reason to spend more money on anything else unless you really want something of a super high quality.
